merge master into mobile-path-picker-preview
Only CLAUDE.md conflicted: master restructured it into the short-rule + docs/architecture-invariants.md pointer layout while this PR was open. Route counts reconciled against master's numbering (files 14 -> 16 for the two new filesystem endpoints, total ~197 -> ~199) and the path picker's detail moved into architecture-invariants under its own section.
